SUHO is providing Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) consultancy for a new mixed-use development, supporting the project team’s ambition to deliver a high-performing, future-ready building. The development, which is a combination of class 2 and class 6, is targeting 5-Star Green Star Buildings v1.3 and full NCC 2019 compliance, including NatHERS and Section J performance.
Our approach focuses on early-stage modelling and staged assessment, embedding sustainability into design decisions and providing the project team with actionable insights while design progresses. By integrating ESD advice with architectural, façade, and services planning, we ensure performance outcomes are accurate, achievable, and aligned with the client’s objectives.
Preliminary Stage 2 Assessment
As part of the Class 2 residential preliminary assessment, SUHO has assessed 34 representative apartments to provide an indicative guide for the development as a whole. Early results demonstrate strong thermal performance, with average NatHERS star ratings of 9 in the North Tower and 8.2 in the South Tower. While these results are preliminary, they provide the team with confidence that the design is on track to exceed minimum regulatory requirements and support high-performing, comfortable residential environments.
Green Star Design Development
Alongside the residential assessment, SUHO has undertaken Stage 2 Green Star design development, preparing the Green Star tally and pathway to guide the project toward a 5-Star benchmark. This work establishes a clear strategy for integrating sustainability into the construction documentation and provides a practical framework for achieving targeted Green Star outcomes.

- Identify opportunities for sustainable design improvements before finalisation
- Provide an early guide to likely regulatory and Green Star outcomes
